ROTARY BOWELSCAN 2011
UNDIE SUNDAY

Rotary Bowelscan’s inaugural Undie Sunday event at the Brisbane River Stage went off without a hitch on Sunday March 13, 2011. We would like to extend our deepest thanks to the hundreds of dedicated Queenslanders who generously gave up their Sunday morning to attempt to make bowel cancer awareness history.

A unique event, Undie Sunday aimed to raise vital awareness of bowel cancer and increase testing of the disease by breaking the Guinness World Record for the ‘largest gathering of people wearing nothing but their underpants’, which stood at 547 reinforcing the important message of the day: "it's cool to check your stool."

BOWELSCAN

Bowelscan is an annual Rotary programme which aims to reduce the lives lost to bowel cancer. Bowel cancer remains the second biggest cancer killer in Australia today. Over 80 Australians die from the disease each and every week. However if detected early, bowel cancer is 90% curable. You're never too young.
